"Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures," his manager said.

James Michael Tyler, the actor best known for his role as Gunther, the general manager of the Central Perk coffee shop on “Friends,” died Sunday of cancer, his manager said. He was 59.

Tyler, who was diagnosed with an advanced form of prostate cancer in September 2018, became an advocate for others with the disease, his manager, Toni Benson, said in a statement.

"Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures," Benson said. "If you met him once you made a friend for life."

Tyler's "Friends" costars paid tribute to the actor late Sunday on social media.

"The size of gratitude you brought into the room and showed every day on set is the size of the gratitude I hold for having known you," wrote actor Courteney Cox, who played Monica on the show.

"We had a lot of laughs buddy. You will be missed," said her co-star Matt Le Blanc, who played Joey.

"Thank you for being there for us all," added Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe.

Tyler was initially intended to play an extra on "Friends," but his "unique spirit" got him promoted to a named character, the hit show's co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane said in a tribute on Sunday to the "genuinely kind, sweet man."

In "Friends," Tyler played Gunther, who makes the gang coffee every day while nursing an unrequited crush on Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston. He also appeared in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and other TV movies and shows.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Welcome Their New Addition To The Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their daughter Lilibet to the family 4 months ago, and an insider has said that they've moved seamlessly into being a bigger family. Their 2-year-old son, Archie, has “a lovable and sweet nature” which has made him the perfect older brother.

Archie is “coming into his own” according to their source and his parents are “so in awe … and feel blessed beyond words.”

“The Sussexes do have nannies to call on when their schedules get crazed, but they’re still extremely hands-on and try to keep the hired help to a minimum for the most part,” the insider explained. “It’s been easier for them with Lili in many ways, even though it’s twice the work, technically, because they’ve been able to use a lot of the techniques they learned with Archie and take care of things like feeding or bathing without too much fuss.”

Prince Harry is also “the most caring dad,” and raising his two kids in Montecito, California has been “just paradise for Harry.”

Unfortunately, relationships remained strained between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, who has been having trouble coming to terms with the Sussexes' decision to remove themselves from senior duties to the Royal Family and leave the U.K.

Finding Freedom author, Omid Scobie, said that the relationship between the two princes “is still very much one of distance.”

He added, “I don’t just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they are not talking that much. … [There are] still feelings of anger [about] the way the couple carried out their departure from their royal lives.”

Scobie continued to say that they still come together for big events, like the death of Prince Philip and a recent unveiling of a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana. But in private, it's hard for them to see eye-to-eye.

“They are very different men. And I think that William has certainly become someone who is really living his life for the crown, for the institution,” Scobie said. “Harry has really sort of gone completely in the opposite direction.”

But Archie had a much warmer relationship with his sibling and apparently gives his baby sister “lots of kisses.” The source said his parents have taught him to be “kind [and] loving” to her with no “jealousy issues.”

'Squid Game' Is Entertaining The World But What Is The Feeling In South Korea

“Koreans love to be No. 1, but No. 1 at the cost of kind of airing your dirty laundry is a somewhat different thing," said Professor CedarBough Saeji.

HONG KONG — Why are South Koreans watching “Squid Game”? Because everyone else is.

The nine-episode horror series on Netflix has hit No. 1 in 90 of the streaming service’s markets around the world, including South Korea, where it was made.

“I got to the point where I could not hold a conversation without watching the show,” said Jung Dunn, a security analyst in Seoul, the South Korean capital.

But the show also strikes a nerve because it unflinchingly addresses a problem that is particularly entrenched in South Korea: debt and the never-ending struggle to pay it off.

The cast of “Squid Game” features some of South Korea’s biggest stars, including Lee Jung-jae as the protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, a hopelessly indebted father who receives a business card from a stranger offering him a way out. Along with 455 other contestants — from all walks of life but all deeply in debt too — he agrees to compete for a cash prize of 45.6 billion won (about $38 million) by playing a series of traditional Korean children’s games, only to discover that elimination from each round means death.

“There’s this dissonance between Korean pride that this Korean show is dominating Netflix all around the world, and the discomfort with what the show appears to expose about Korea,” said CedarBough Saeji, an assistant professor of Korean and East Asian studies at Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea. “Koreans love to be No. 1, but No. 1 at the cost of kind of airing your dirty laundry is a somewhat different thing.”

That South Korea also produced “Parasite,” the 2020 Oscar winner for best picture that also focused on themes of inequality, has probably accentuated this discomfort, Saeji said.

Still, “Squid Game” is wildly popular in its home country.

The show was released on Sept. 17 just before Chuseok, a Korean holiday similar to Thanksgiving when families gather, the perfect time for binge-watching. The surge in network traffic led one internet service provider to sue Netflix to cover its costs.

The fervor has also spilled over into real life. A street vendor in Seoul who provided the makers of “Squid Game” with dalgona, a brittle sugar candy at the center of one of the games, told Reuters that he had seen a boom in business.
