When asked about his major influences, Parodax told “there are several personalities and music artists that inspired me to step into the music industry. That includes Kapa Shanti, Natural Black, Deadli, Gtyouth Production, Negus Nurse, Bailey, Vybz Kartel, Mavado. These are some of the names that I would like to mention since they all are my motivations.”

About his music and how he would’ve turned out to be if he didn’t step into the music industry, Parodax quoted “I wouldn’t have chosen another field since my only interest from the beginning is music. Even if I failed once or a million times, I would’ve still stepped up in my game and continued on the path that I’ve taken to become the best music artist hailing from Guyana.”

Parodax’s amazing ideas are sure an inspiration for those that want to enter the music industry. His greatest hits include “Addicted” and his latest release “Baby Come Party With Me” are already great successes amongst the listeners.

With more than 10k views for his song released in March 2021, Parodax is already a sensation for his audience. The artists representing Jamaica are led by veteran and known reggae icon Winston McAnuff who is a global reggae star and who has been the European bridge and reason for most if not all of the reggae iconic placements throughout Europe beginning with the music throughout France, England, Belgium, and Germany. Artists such as Sly and Robbie and the originators of what is reggae currently as well as many other artists from the days of Ska are those indebted to Winston for the connectivity of Jamaican music in France, England, and Germany. His long history of appreciation of reggae music has positioned him along with his drive of reaching back to the youths and artists who are now producing new angles of such impacting music from his homeland Jamaica. The Belizean artists include Drivah ft Bastic with “Road”, Jah Art “Hail Rastafari”, Mikey Lion “Wroo Oh Oh Oh” and Shawn Adaan “Bawl” make the album a treasure with their input. Fidel Nadal, Argentinian star Rastafarian with his song “Mucho Por Hacer”, translates there is much to do in our communities and what he exemplifies with all his communal love for music throughout South and Latin America as well as throughout Europe.

Sgt Remo, who is Mexican-American puts an emphasis on the production with his rendition of what we need in the world today to “Hear The Trumpets Blow” which adds a flair to the album. Jah Myhrakle’s “Weh Manna Seh'' is again words connected to the Rastafarian faith as he represents the United States along with CK Pragmatic formerly known as Cement Kidd from the early 90’s when he was signed to Manatee Records, Jamaica with his song “Alive” adds the Belizean American in Jah Myhrakle as well as the Jamaican-American in Pragmatic who both represent the city of New York, the melting pot for many west Indians in the united states. Kino Contigo with his Belizean-American roots has given the album a millennial’s view of the struggles in our communities with his song “Always''.

Finally Mr. Program, one of Belize’s young rising reggae stars, emotionally provided his song on the Satta Massagana Rebirth Riddim, just prior to being killed in the streets of Belize but we are humbled with praises for his song “My Religion”. "I'm getting a lot of positive feedback about this project. With the right promotion, these songs will do well both locally and overseas," Manatee Records President/CEO Calvin 'Doc' Flowers said. "The title of the project translates from the Amharic language as 'He Gave Praise', and with this project, I am honoring the spirit of that argument, by giving praise." He added, "The original Satta Massagana has even been adopted by some Rastafarian groups as a hymn used during services, so this project means a lot to me. The songs are well written and bring positive messages of introspection, peace, and love to all." Flowers has been involved in the music community in Chicago since his arrival from his native country of Belize.

Mr. Program

Satta Massagana is the title track of a roots-reggae album of the same name by The Abyssinians. The rhythm itself has been re-recorded several times over the years. Manatee Records released a rendition of the Satta Massagana in the early ’90s and the riddim was blessed by Bernard Collins and Manning from the original Abyssinians and one of the only labels to have received that verification of the riddim. The standout song which is being played on Irie-FM, Mello, Zip-FM, and Sun City stations in Jamaica as well as a host of other stations in the USA, Africa, and the Caribbean is “Wake Up List” by TearDrops. This song is inspired by the knowledge that life is the greatest, whenever you rise, you have it all, you're rich. The song has also received praise from Bobby Konders, top reggae DJ in New York, and the Massive B movement. Winston McAnuff’s “Armageddon” is another standout track from the veteran and iconic reggae artist who appreciated hearing the new rendition of the Satta as we all know. Another stand-out song is Ras Ash's 1st “Slave Trade”, which not only looks at the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and its lingering effects but also focuses on the need for the loving kindness and mercies of Jah. Flowers has high hopes for the project given the early buzz.

Coldplay Set to Open 2021 Brit Awards

Coldplay's 28 Brit Award nominations is the record for a group.

Coldplay is set to open the 2021 Brit Awards on May 11 performing on a pontoon on the Thames near The O2 arena, where the show is being held. Their performance will follow the release of their new single “Higher Power,” which is being released on Friday.

This will be Coldplay’s third performance at the Brits in five years. They opened the 2016 show with “Hymn for the Weekend.” And they teamed with The Chainsmokers the following year to perform their collab smash “Something Just Like This.”

This will be Coldplay’s first TV performance in more than a year. Likewise, the Brit Awards will be the first live music show at The O2 in more than a year.

Coldplay has won British group at the Brits four times, more often than any other group. They have won British album of the year three times, which puts them in a tie with Arctic Monkeys for the lead. Coldplay has won two other Brit Awards, for a total of nine. Their 28 Brit nominations is the record for a group.

The Brit Awards 2021 with Mastercard – as the show is officially billed – has previously announced performances by Olivia Rodrigo, Arlo Parks, Dua Lipa, Griff (this year’s Rising Star winner), Headie One, and Rag’n’Bone Man & P!nk with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Choir.

Red Hot Chili Peppers to Sell Song Catalog to Hipgnosis for Upwards of $140 Million

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are selling their song catalog to Hipgnosis Songs for upwards of $140 million, sources confirm to Variety, making them the latest heritage artist to benefit from the intellectual property gold rush that has seen Bob Dylan sell his songwriting catalog to Universal Music Publishing for more than $300 million and Stevie Nicks sell hers to Primary Wave for $100 million.

The band, which formed in 1982, has a solid catalog of hits including “Under the Bridge,” “Give It Away,” “Dani California,” “Knock Me Down” and others, and drummer Chad Smith recently confirmed that the group has been working on a new album. The news was first teased by Music Business Worldwide and reported by Billboard; at the time of this article’s publication, it was unclear whether the deal had fully closed.

The Chili Peppers’ catalog was largely written by the band’s key members since 1989 —singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante, who recently returned for his third stint with the group. As reported by Billboard, the catalog is administered by Moebetoblame Music, under the guidance of lawyer Eric Greenspan, managing partner of the law firm Myman, Greenspan, Fox, Rosenberg Mobasser, Younger & Light LLP. Sources say Greenspan shopped the deal for the band. It also reported that the group’s catalog generates $5 million to $6 million in net publishers’ share.

Reps for Hipgnosis and the band did not immediately respond to Variety‘s requests for comment; Greenspan could not be reached for comment.

Change is in the air for the group, which left Q Prime, its managers for more than 20 years, last fall, and recently confirmed that they have signed with Madonna/U2 manager Guy Oseary.

Hipgnosis, of course, has been on a catalog-acquisition binge that is unparalleled in music industry history and has driven up the price of song catalogs exponentially. In just two weeks early this year it acquired half of Neil Young’s catalog, as well as those of Fleetwood Mac veteran Lindsey Buckingham, producer/executive Jimmy Iovine amd Shakira. In just under three years, Hipgnosis has acquired catalogs by such hitmakers as Timbaland, Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, Blondie, Barry Manilow, Jeff Bhasker and many more.

Justin Bieber Summer Tour Postponed Until 2022

A Justin Bieber tour that was scheduled to begin June 2 and run through the summer has been pushed back into 2022, with an official announcement likely to come soon.

Postponement of at least some of the dates, if not the entire tour, has seemed like a fait accompli for months. It’s booked into indoor arenas, where COVID restrictions may remain more stringent than for outdoor shows in many locales for some time to come. The tour was set to open in San Diego and have some of its other initial dates in California, where it’s by no means certain that all counties will have moved into a tier allowing 100% capacity at indoor shows by the beginning of June.

The delay in announcing the postponement may be due to challenges in rescheduling the dates; a plethora of COVID-postponed tours have meant that most major venues are almost fully booked well into 2022.

The singer’s label reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Tickets for all shows remained on sale as of Thursday afternoon.

Bieber’s tour was already postponed once. It was originally scheduled for last year, but in July of 2020, Bieber announced that it was being pushed back to May, June, July and August of 2021 — saying, “”Looking forward to seeing you all when it is safe” — with what turned out to be an overoptimistic view of when the U.S. would be in a fully post-pandemic mode. This year’s initially announced May start had already been pushed in favor of a June 2 opening.

The tour originally included stadiums as well as arenas; the shift to a planned 2021 tour included reconfiguring the plan by dropping the stadiums and losing a few arena dates while adding 19 others. Opening acts Kehlani and Jaden Smith dropped out as the tour shifted from ’20 to ’21.

However, when the tour does happen, Bieber will have several more hits under his belt: His recent album, “Justice,” is a solid success, debuting at No. 1 on the album chart and remaining in the top five during its six weeks of release thus far.

The album has also generated a big hit single for Bieber. He released two moderately successful singles in advance of “Justice,” the plaintive “Anyone” and “Hold On,” but the one that the singer released concurrently with the album, the more party-friendly “Peaches” (featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon), has proven to be the biggest of them, debuting at No. 1 and remaining among the top five songs throughout the last six weeks.

Bieber has been quiet about the tour status on his social media and elsewhere, although he has taken to his account in recent days to show off his new dreadlocks hair style, which fans have had quite a lot to say about.

Nick Jonas Set to Host the 2021 Billboard Music Awards

From Spaceman to emcee! Nick Jonas is hosting the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

Set to air live on Sunday, May 23, the annual awards show event will see the 28-year-old musician serve as host after Kelly Clarkson — his The Voice costar — served in the role over the past three years.

Jonas and Clarkson, 39, are two of five musicians who have taken on the role of hosting the BBMAs solo over the years, alongside Phil Collins, LL Cool J and Ludacris, according to Billboard. This is the first time that Jonas will host the famed awards show event.

The musician, who recently took part in announcing the 2021 Oscar nominees alongside his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, won three Billboard Music Awards last year with the Jonas Brothers, his band with brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas.

There, the trio won top duo/group, top radio songs artist and top radio song for their track, "Sucker." They were also nominated for top artist.

On Thursday, the Billboard Music Awards announced its group of 2021 nominees, led by The Weeknd with 16 nods, followed by rapper DaBaby with 11 nominations and the late Pop Smoke with 10 nods.

Gabby Barrett and Megan Thee Stallion are the two women nominees with the most nominations with nine and seven nominations, respectively.

Cardi B 'Big Paper' Lyrics As Diss-Filled Tracks Prompts Wave of Memes

Cardi B has featured in her second track of 2021, a DJ Khaled production called "Big Paper," and it has caused a stir on social media Friday.

In the A-list-filled "Khaled Khaled" album, rapper Cardi B has reunited with the producer for another track with the central message being: "I get big paper, so I deal with big haters."

The song is a fast-paced expletive-laden track that shows the darker side of the performer, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar.

Cardi B reportedly submitted her lyrics just in time to be included in the album.

In a video posted by DJ Khaled to Instagram, the producer is seen being informed that Cardi is taking part in his project and he reacts by excitedly jumping in a swimming pool.

"CARDI B VOCALS IS IN!!" he captioned the clip.

Announcing her participation on Twitter, the 28-year-old "WAP" hitmaker tweeted: "Thank you guys on the support for BIG PAPER. Make sure ya check out @djkhaled album. I just finish listening and I love all the good vibes on the album. Different type of songs with different type of moods."

Fans have been reacting to the track with many commenting how Cardi B "snapped" in her lyrics.

While another person added: "Damn Cardi B high key snapped on that new Khaled Khaled album! Sheeeeeesh."

Summer of ‘92 in the nation’s capitol of Washington D.C., Israel Negasi was born Israel Tesfaye, son of Ethiopian immigrants, and the first African-American in his family. Armed with nothing, but sheer will and an unbreakable confidence, Negasi is thrust into a life he may not have been all too prepared for. To learn what it means to be a man is a quest he still rides on to this day. Through it all came many experiences that groomed his sound that range from the passionate melodies to an aggressive, yet slick confidence.

From the DMV, in the Fall of 2012 Negasi finds himself at art school in Atlanta, while simultaneously making his way into local studios for internships and guidance. After getting hands-on experience with many talented professionals, learning to mix for local legends like Pill, DJ Unk, and more, he finds himself ready to step out on his own in the industry. After mastering his first single, Supernatural Love, he takes a trip with his camp to the illustrious Magic City where songs are known to break….if they were good enough, of course.

Managed by Kevin DeClue and his company DUCLOUX and signed to independent label ECLIPSE, her influences include Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Astrid S, JoJo, and Zara Larsson, Rvkah comes from a lineage of actors and musicians going back to Vaudeville.

Rvkah, (given name Rebecca Jean Moritz), is moving toward the success of Madonna and Britney Spears who ironically she’s been compared to in magazine articles and on TV show interviews . But this VH1 award-winning young artist is not Madonna or Britney Spears, she is Rvkah. Born in Florida and raised in Israel, Rvkah was singing before she could speak, her first public performance was at age five in front of an audience of over 500 people in a school talent show. Rvkah has been singing and performing ever since.

Originally under the moniker of “Rebecca,” she recorded her debut album “Picture Me’, at just 12-years-old. The album contains five award-winning songs. The title song won first place in the VH1 “Song of the Year” contest in 2005. Two other songs from the album, “Your Love Is Like A Knife” and “Nu” were “finalists” among thousands of entries. In addition, “Let Your Fire Take Me” received “Director’s Award” from Paramount Group in Nashville, in March 2006. Her song “All Men Are Created Equal” was honored by the VH1 Song of the Year judges and received Honorable Mention from the “Peace driven Songwriting Award” committee. In addition, Rvkah has received encouraging letters of commendation from former U.S. President Barack Obama, former U.S. President George W. Bush, former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and many other countries’ ambassadors from her worldwide distribution of this wonderful song of peace. She was also selected as a “Gold Artist” by RadioIndy.com.

Through several of her releases, Rvkah has promoted peace, happiness and hope in the world. Her single “Angels in Jerusalem” received honors from the “Unisong International Songwriting Contest,” and her song “Hope” promotes the research for cures of life threatening diseases. Performed in the Israel Pride Parade that televised in NYC her song“60 Years” is a single celebrating the 60th anniversary of Israel.

Rvkah then went on to release her sophomore album, self-titled, “REBECCA”. Most notably music video’s “Summer Without You”, “Times”, and “Wait For Me” have premiered on MTV Europe as well as various music channels across Israel. Soon after, two singles from her sophomore album, entitled “Another Story” and “Never Ever” were distributed throughout radio stations in the United Kingdom and in Israel.

The change of the moniker “Rebecca” to Rvkah according to the former grad from Berklee College of Music, represents the reinvention of herself as an artist. Building on the momentum of her past international success as “Rebecca” and now with her team intact and the immediate feedback and success of her new debut EP’ “Love,” she is cementing her legacy as an internationally recognized pop star.

DoIores Ninja partners with Keyz Emmanuel for upbeat dance track ‘Io BalIo’

DoIores and Keyz first started down this collaborative path when their producer, Phoenix Red, brought them together. Keyz is a Nigerian-born music artist who plays the piano and a variety of percussive instruments. Gamirey Releases New Single, ‘Endless Love’ (Feat. Mario Bentti & Adrianna Foster)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Two-time Grammy winner, Gamalier Reyes known as Gamirey is no stranger to the Latin music industry.  Gamalier has played with music giants Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuel, Tito Nieves, Tito Allen, Adalberto Santiago, Eddie Santiago, Miles Peña, Andy Montañez, Rey Ruiz, Ismael Miranda, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Rivera Jr., and Tommy Olivencia. Since 2003, he’s been working alongside Tito Puente Jr. as his percussionist.

BACKGROUND

Born in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico to a family of musicians, where Gamirey’s love of music began.  He was raised in the city of Rio Piedras to parents Maria Diaz and Samuel Reyes.  At the age of 5 he discovered the bongos and by the age of 11 he had his first set of timbales (kettledrums).  His first opportunity to play with a professional salsa band was at the ripe age of 12 years old, this is where he was trained by professional percussionists Eddie "Bongo" Torres & Richie Rivera. When he was 16, Latin percussion artist Charlie Santiago referred Gamirey to Lefty Perez. For 10 years he played bongos for Perez and lead the band for 2 years as the timbale player.

Following his passion for music, in 2010, he begins to work with salsa legends Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz.  This fueled Gamirey’s career and several years later he co-produced, recorded, and engineered three albums such as Romantico, Salsa Sin Limites, and Salsa Factory Bunch for Bobby Cruz. In 2020, Tito Puente Jr. invited Gamirey to be part of a tribute album to his father the late Tito Puente called “El Rey del Timbale”.  Not only did Gamalier play the congas and bongos, he was also the mixing and mastering engineer in the album. Now in 2021, Gamirey is releasing his new production “Endless”, the music produced by himself and Luis S. Prieto Jr “Luisam”, and executive produced by David Cabrera with Cabrera Marketing Group. This album is a tribute to the famed Lionel Richie, infused with the rhythms and sounds of salsa music.  Some of the featured artist on the album include Kevin Ceballo, Jerry Montañez, Adrianna Foster, Lucy Grau, Carlos Oliva, Lefty Peréz, Mario Bentti, Tito Puente Jr, and many more.

Tony Cobain Releases New Song, 'The City' From His Album, 'Different Energy'

Tony Cobain is an Actor, Comedian, Writer, and Recording Artist. His artistic roots began early as a child. He began performing stand-up comedy while still in school. He would leave school and perform stand-up comedy as an after school activity. He is a self-taught piano player and guitarist. While in high school he studied theatre and performed in several plays such as: The Laramie Project and Danny and The Deep Blue Sea.

As a senior in high school he auditioned for several top acting Universities in New York City such as: Julliard, New York University, and AMDA(American Musical and Dramatic Academy). However, he eventually decided to attend Howard University in Washington, DC. While at Howard University, he continued to sharpen his stand-up comedy skills and produced his own web series, The Tony Cobain Show, which chronicled his life. Upon completion of his time at Howard University he started a Film Production Company and a Non-Profit Organization, which aims to help aid people with mental illnesses by using Stand-up Comedy.

Andrew Downing – The Multi-Dimensional Jazz Artist who continues to soar on both iTunes and Billboard

With the release of new music daily, we all hope to indulge in a listening experience that leaves us happy and fulfilled. Or at least identifiably “magical” in some sort of way that encourages a listen over and over again to the point where we become fans overnight almost immediately.

Andrew Downing, currently a distributed artist with SS Global Entertainment, has truly discovered the revolutionary sound through his original compositions that blend the elements of Jazz into the perfect mix; so perfect that any lover of the genre could relate upon listening to his masterpieces.

With existence of the highly competitive Jazz scene, one would assume that it would be difficult to leave an imprint. But that doesn’t stop Downing from doing what he loves. Last year, Downing found himself working with Amada Records, one of the partnered labels of SS Global Entertainment. He submitted his first project “Fighting Time” and almost immediately the album rose to No. 1 on the iTunes Jazz albums chart and from there Downing knew he was on to something special.

Soon after, Downing featured on one of Worldwide Music Group (A sub label under SS Global Entertainment)/Amada Records popular compilation series titled “The Lightshow” with his hit single “Party Flow” where he landed a No. 4 iTunes Pop chart ranking and a Billboard charting which peaked at No. 23. After charting on Billboard, that accomplishment ignited something even more impacting in him and he went on to release more hits that revealed to not only him but to the world that he truly is a talent existing in his own lane.

Earlier this year, he went on to release yet another gem titled “Blue 82” which landed a No. 4 spot on the iTunes Jazz chart and a No. 1 spot on the Amazon Jazz Best Seller’s chart. Followed by that, his next release titled “Work Pays” landed No. 2 on the iTunes Jazz chart.

Now with all of the success on both iTunes and Billboard combined, he knew he didn’t want to stop there. Any artist knows that in order to get their music out to the masses, at some point, radio exposure has to come in. Downing took a chance, submitted one of his original pieces titled “Fly With You” that he composed for an artist known as “Koho” through Hush Media Networks and to his surprise landed a national campaign where the song is currently playing at 11 radio stations in several markets within four major mixshows, “Steve Harvey In the Morning”, “The Breakfast Club”, “Sheryl Underwood Radio” and “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”.

While the success story of Andrew Downing seems like a magical dream come true, Downing understands that it does not stop here.
