Shaun John was born in the Midwest, in the Kansas City, Kansas area where drugs & violence is at their highest point right now. Shaun John grew up with both parents. His father always brought every cd from R& B to Hip Hop. He got his early influence from listening to NWA, Ice Cube, Scarface, Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, & UGK. His mother is the choir director for her church, so Shaun John comes from a musical background. Being around music all of his life is what influenced him the most to step into the music scene. The hardcore lyrics come from growing up in Kansas City, Kansas. He talks about life in the struggle & the hustlers’ point of view like the song ‘Counting These Bandz’ and ‘Crack House’.
Being high in the latest fashion, Shaun John’s motto is “Stay Fly or Get Flown Over”. The hard hustler we see from him came from always being the underdog in life. Shaun John wasn’t everybody’s first choice, but he ground his way to the top spotlight with an unbelievable work ethic. The mindset of being real with yourself & with others will get you far in life. Each song he writes is about life experiences & what others can relate to. He said “The Hustle Will Never Stop Unless You Stop”. He watched how his music motivated people to go out here & get it. Shaun John is the trunk music of the new wave with old school Hip Hop mix into one. What better way to hear about Wyandotte’s streets and the music grind other than the hustlers himself.
