Born in Staten Island, raised in New Jersey, artist Taurie dove into the music industry with a full head of steam. Pursuing her interest in music Taurie took her talents to the studio for the first time at 19yrs old, and the rest was history. “Always been interested in music and encouraged myself to go into the studio where I also taught myself how to play five musical instruments”, says Taurie.
Taurie has a unique sound that she has developed from her past experiences, cultures, communities, and surroundings. “I’m like being diversified”, says Taurie. She gives feels in all the right places with her one of a kind sound and voice. She describes her sound as an “R&B to hip-hop feel, soft Bronx to contemporary. “It is really about the theme”, says Taurie. Being diversified is important to Taurie because she draws diversity in her life. From growing up in a Nigerian household to mixing it with some Bronx hip hop, RnB and contemporary. She has created unique flow of sound play that cannot be matched.
Taurie has two albums out now that you can stream on all music streaming platforms. Go check it out! One of her favorite songs off the album is a song “Aesthetics” which she describes as “appreciating beauty in life. It is a summer feel good music.” Taurie has a new project on the way which combines culture, sound, and genre from Ni-Pop (Nigerian Pop) music. “The album is an ode to my Nigerian culture since I was raised in a Nigerian household which is portrayed in aspects of this album. It is also quite vibrant and engaging”, says Taurie.
“Though the album is still in the works, we are pushing for a November release of its first single. A third contemporary album will definitely be released for Spring of next year”, says Taurie. Be on the lookout for this body-swaying Ni-Pop (Nigerian Pop) album. She recently joined forces with a distribution company which will skyrocket her music career even more. “Amada Records is discussing marketing strategy with Taurie Music, LLC currently, and we are looking forward to what we can build together musically.
