Gritty In Pink Wraps Up Women's History Month With March 23rd Gritty Rocks IG LIVE Fundraiser

All-Female Biweekly Livestream Continues to Gain Momentum and Benefit Keep A Breast, with Illustrious Lineup of New Artists

Los Angeles (March 2021): Gritty In Pink, a new community to empower women in music, continues to grow with another upcoming female-centric livestream. The platform will host a powerful lineup for the Gritty Rocks Live (GRL) Instagram Live Fundraiser for Keep A Breast on Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST. The show is sponsored by Guitar Girl, Mackie, Pitfire Pizza, Owl’s Brew, Drew Martin and Fender, who is partnering with Gritty In Pink to giveaway the Lead III guitar in Purple Metallic!

This community is thrilled to welcome the lineup of all new Gritty In Pink artists to the family. Featured artists include Jordyn Carter, Melissa B, TikTok star MegaGoneFree, MAKO Girls, Alexx Calise, Sara Baldwin and JOVANNA, and Denisha Dalton, who is a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” this season. The show will be hosted by Shiragirl with house band musicians Alex Windsor, Sabrina Winter and Jeannette Lawler.

This show follows the success of Gritty In Pink’s Women’s Day Edition, which raised money for Keep A Breast. The event featured performances and interviews from rising stars Meet Me @ The Altar, Madeline Rosene, Jayelle ft Mel Johnson, Chastity Ashley and more. During the show, viewers were delighted with phenomenal performances and inspiring stories. Meet Me @ The Altar shared some of the hardships they experience as proud women of color in a homogenous male-dominated industry, and treated fans with the announcement of the release of an upcoming feminist anthem, their new single in honor of Women’s History Month. The livestream also featured Gritty In Pink’s March Bandmate of the Month, Jayelle, who sang her new single “Double Standard” and talked about her Instagram #DoubleStandardChallenge, where women across the country shared the double standards and sexism they have encountered. Gritty In Pink is ready to carry this inspirational and empowering energy into its Women’s History Month show.

Gritty In Pink is also beta-launching the GRID, a new private network for its artists to connect, and access exclusive virtual events and workshops. Eventually, the platform will open the network to all women in the music industry.

Gritty in Pink is a new platform empowering women in music through performance, partnerships, and networking opportunities. Founder Shira Yevin has a legendary history of breaking down barriers and carving out a space for women, as the creator of the Vans Warped Tour Shiragirl Stage, which featured 300+ female musicians, including Joan Jett and Paramore. South by Southwest 2021 Shares Full Music Lineup

SXSW has completed their rollout of performers and presenters ahead of the now-virtual event’s March 16 music festival start date. BigBankBandz, Black Country New Road, A Place to Bury Strangers, No Joy, Sorry, Braids, Squid, Holy Fuck, Holy Wave, Penelope Isles, The Chats, Chubby and the Gang, Altin Gun, Phony Ppl, Kinky, Hachiku, Just Mustard, Nadia Reid, Otoboke Beaver, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Purple Pilgrims, Indigo Sparke,TENGGER, and more.

Showcases take place Tuesday - Friday from 1:30 PM - 11:00 PM EDT and on Saturday from noon - 10:30 PM EDT. Most showcases will be between 30-60 minutes and the schedule will repeat over the next 12 hour cycle. SXSW is promising that these will not be your average lockdown shows, and will be performed at "historic, legendary, and unexpected venues throughout the world."

Producer Confidential: The Secret Weapon Used By Industry Hit Makers To Dominate The Charts

 Songstress Zhanel (pronounced Ja-nel) hails from a musically inclined family. Opensoul is a singer, songwriter, and actor. The multi-talented and multi-faceted performer has featured in Netflix's reboot of Top Boy. Playing the role of Donovan, the lead character's cousin. Throughout history, DJ’s have always been major components and pioneers behind directing the sound and eras of music which is why it is important that we celebrate their accolades just as much as we do artists and musicians.

Yesterday, marked the iconic day that DPG’s official DJ Cell compilation titled “DJ Cell Smoke Chronicles”, landed a No. 20 spot on Billboard, with the marketing and support of Amada Records and SS Global Entertainment, In addition to that, last Thursday, the project soared to No. 1 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap chart surpassing household names such as Eminem and Megan Thee Stallion. The compilation features a roster of talent from artists and producers who all represent a noticeable quality of originality and skill that deserves its own lane of recognition. It’s a great body of work from production to lyricism and DJ Cell tells Grind Magazine that he’s not stopping any time soon. In fact, he has plans on releasing more in the very near future to continue passing on the torch to artists and producers he feels deserve a chance at reaching heights usually deemed impossible without a major machine behind them. He has seen what the legendary lineage of DPG has done for the culture of music, and because of that hopes to create a new lane for great talent to utilize under his wings.

With the pandemic still underway, many public figures like DJ Cell have also found favor in collaborating with independent talent when before their timeframe on the road due to tours and limited scheduling didn’t allow it. Therefore, until the states begin opening up fully, the opportunities for the independent entrepreneur to take advantage of these rare experiences remain encouraging.

The Association Records: Independent Powerhouse You Should Know

Founder and President of The Association Records, Maricello Brown aka “Mr. GottisGotemAR”, has been building a name for himself and his counterparts for nearly 15 years. DJ Cell Smoke Chronicles Compilation Soars to Number 1 on the iTunes Chart

In November of last year, WWMG of SS Global Entertainment & Amada Records released yet another one of their premiere compilations that soared the iTunes charts peaking at number 4. They decided to give it one more push, as the holidays seemed to toughen the competition with popular Christmas compilations and low and behold, today it it blew the competition out the water hitting the number 1 spot passing artists such as Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion, Fred Bang, just to name a few.

DJ Cell tells Grind Magazine that he’s super thankful for everyone who contributed; the artists, producers as well as fans and he couldn’t be more excited that his first compilation reached the highest of heights.

Bigbankbandz EP "Bank Statement" Hits Top 10 on iTunes Hip Hop Chart: Peaks at No. 9

It’s to no one’s surprise that the fast rising national recording artist, Bigbankbandz was going to find his newly released EP “Bank Statement” landing at No. 9 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap chart premiering among the greats. He has since reached unimaginable heights at the young age of 21 and tells Grind Magazine that he has no plans on stopping and representing for his city, Chicago.

Bandz was also recently featured on both the original “Predicted Platinum” as well as “Predicted Platinum” Deluxe compilation series that landed him two Billboard placements and a number 1 spot on iTunes Hiphop/Rap chart for his hit single “Cake Up”.

Kashious Releases New Single "Without Your Love"

Hailing from D.C, Kashious is a singer/songwriter, producer & self-proclaimed one man band. The talented multi-instrumentalist writes, produces & sings songs spanning & effortlessly blending the genres of R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop, blues & Soul.

Kashious is currently in the studio perfecting his rendition of the Teddy Pendergrass classic, “Close the Door”. A fitting endeavor for Kashious whose, powerfully stirring yet piercingly accurate, voice has earned some well-deserved comparisons to legendary greats, Luther Vandross & Marvin Gaye. Kashious, a naturally gifted vocalist, was born into a musically inclined family. His mother & siblings all shared their love of music, both, in the home & at church. Early on, Kashious’ style was influenced by BB King, Ernie Isley, Marvin Gaye & Aaron Neville. A self-taught musician, he learned to play guitar by listening to their music over & over until he could play the chords perfectly. Applying that same self-discipline, he learned to play the drums, bass & keyboard thereafter.

After spending over 15 years in Colorado, in 2005 Kashious was encouraged by his family to relocate to San Diego, Ca to pursue his dream. It wasn’t long before Kashious partnered with Rusty Gordon, a producer who believed in his immense talent & knew that the world needed to hear his music. Gordon, acting as a catalyst, challenged Kashious artistically. The musical bond fostered in 2006 marked the beginning of a successful artist/producer relationship that continues today. Kashious’ growth as an artist is endearing & undeniable to listeners around the world.

South Central Native, national recording artist, Aktion Jackson’s New Single “Delete” produced by the legendary DJ Battle Cat soars to Top 25 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart, landing at No. 21 on it’s first day of release.

Aktion, popularly known for his creative and animated style of rapping, is not only a lyrically talented artist but also a writer, producer and director in film, which is why the assembly of his delivery in the song itself feels more like a full production rather than just the typical two verses and a hook. Nick Caster is embarking on new ventures despite his music doing extremely well in all markets globally.

Initially, Nick was determined and passionate about working towards the spotlight as would any musician trying to pursue a career in the music and entertainment industry. Unlike most independent artists pushing their music without the help of a big machine, his success has been above and beyond the “norm”. As a result of his hard work, talent and efforts of networking, he soon found himself creating the necessary relationships needed to progress into a world of promise.

In addition to the exposure, they can also earn by selling merchandise, CD’s etc. He recently incorporated, Elite Entertainment, LLC with a private partner, and the company will soon act as a booking agency working with select artists who fit a specific profile and criteria for the Florida Beach, Clearwater, Sarasota and Miami markets. So far, Nick sees this as a great investment as he recently found interest from city officials who, like him, see potential in the idea of retreats and festivals bringing revenue to known tourist attractions that have taken tremendous falls following the pandemic. Furthermore, future event planning has already begun with the first event aimed to launch July 4th of 2021 and Spring break of 2022.

While Nick’s choices to put the pen and guitar down may have his fans questioning why, Nick seems to have his head set and determined on starting his new journey as an executive providing opportunities rather than the musician searching for them. With the success he has seen with pretty much anything he has placed his efforts into, everything actually looks pretty promising.
